About Us

Christopher Perrin started his musical life at age nine studying flute with Victor McMahon. Changing to the trumpet he quickly began winning competitions and at age 15 was Australian Junior Cornet Champion. He was then successful in winning a scholarship to the Sydney Conservatorium of Music where he studied trumpet for 4 years.

In 1973 he gained a scholarship with the ABC National Training Orchestra and in 1975 won a position in the State Orchestra of Victoria where he was a member for 12 years. Some of the orchestras with which Chris has performed include Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Olympia Chamber Orchestra (USA) & Australian Opera & Ballet Orchestra.

Chris has also played for several movie soundtracks, including The Man From Snowy River, Legend of the Guardians and on Opera Australia’s CD of Verdi’s Requiem.

On returning to Australia in 1999 Chris taught at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music & was Lecturer in Trumpet at the Australian Institute of Music. 2002-2006 Chris was Head of Brass for the Orange Regional Conservatorium.

Currently he performs with the Australian Opera & Ballet Orchestra, Canberra Symphony Orchestra and Sydney Philharmonia Orchestra.

Ann Hosking Perrin studied at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music with Max Claxton and John Gray. From the ABC National Training Orchestra she was appointed to the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra in 1977 and in 1981 won a position with the Sydney Elizabethan Orchestra.
 
From 1988 she freelanced extensively with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Australian Opera & Ballet Orchestra and Australian Chamber orchestra.

As a teacher she has taught extensively and was Lecturer in Double Bass at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music 1996 - 2001.

Ann, while continuing to be involved in music through choral conducting, composition and editing, is a Minister of the Uniting Church in Australia.
